Editorial policy

Alpha Investing Group publishes free, plain-English guides and calculators for people who are new to managing money. This page explains how that content is researched, checked and kept up to date, so you can judge how much to rely on it.

Who is responsible

The site is run by WB Loo, a former strategy consultant who has passed Levels I and II of the CFA® Program. WB Loo reviews and approves every article and calculator before it is published and is accountable for what appears on the site.

How we research and check articles

  • Primary sources first. Figures and claims come from government agencies, regulators, central banks, academic research and major financial institutions wherever possible. Each source is linked in the sentence it supports, so you can check it yourself.
  • Dated figures. Numbers that change, such as interest rates, contribution limits and survey results, say when they are from.
  • Review before publishing. Every article is checked against an editorial checklist covering accuracy, sourcing, clarity and the education-only rules below before it goes live.
  • Kept current. We revisit articles when the facts change, for example new tax-year limits or rate moves, and rewrite older guides with current data. An article that has been substantially updated shows an “Updated” date next to its original publication date. We also check every external link each month and replace sources that have moved or disappeared.

Calculators

Each calculator lists the assumptions it makes and the sources for its formulas and defaults, so you can see exactly what it does and doesn’t include. Calculators are reviewed before they are published, and their results are estimates, not quotes.

Education, not advice

Everything on this site is general education. We don’t know your circumstances, so we don’t give personal financial, tax or legal advice, recommend individual securities, or promise returns. Past performance doesn’t guarantee future results. For decisions that depend on your situation, consider a qualified, regulated adviser.

How we make money, and staying independent

The site is free to read. It earns money from advertising (Google AdSense) and may earn a commission from some affiliate links, which are disclosed at the top of each article. Advertisers and affiliate partners have no say in what we write, and we don’t accept payment to cover, rank or review a product. Ads are chosen by Google, not by us, and appearing next to our content is not an endorsement. More on how we earn money.

Corrections and feedback

If you spot an error, a broken link or an out-of-date figure, please email alphainvestinggroup.general@gmail.com. We check every report, fix confirmed errors promptly and record material corrections on our corrections page.
