About Us

Alpha Investing Group is a free website and community that encourages sensible, long-term investing. Much of the online investing world pushes hot stock picks backed by superficial analysis, and plenty of people buy hyped investments without understanding what they own. We think that does real harm, especially to people just starting out.

So we do the opposite: plain-English guides to budgeting, saving, debt, credit and low-cost index investing, and free calculators that show how the numbers work. The goal is to help you make informed decisions for yourself, not to tell you what to buy.

The site is run by WB Loo, a former strategy consultant who has passed Levels I and II of the CFA® Program. Our editorial policy explains how articles are researched, reviewed and kept up to date, and our corrections page lists material fixes.
